Frequent Ventricular Ectopics

What Is It?

A rate of more than one heart beat originating from the ventricles on average every two minutes.

Additional Information

The vast majority of Ventricular Ectopics have no symptoms. However, some people may feel a skipped heartbeat or palpitations. In general VE’s are harmless. However, diagnosing them and ruling out heart disease are important.

Treatment Options

For those people experiencing chest pain, they may be recommended by their doctor to take medication such as beta blockers or antiarrhythmics. Other people may just need to limit or eliminate their intake of caffeine.
