Healthantec Limited - Privacy Policy

At Healthantec Limited (“Healthantec”), we believe strongly in protecting the privacy of our Members' personal information. This Privacy Policy sets out how Healthantec handles data which identifies you. You should read it in conjunction with the Healthantec Terms and Conditions, of which this Privacy Policy forms part.

  1. Emails from Healthantec

You are probably most interested in how we will use your email address to communicate with you, so here's our email promise:

Service Emails. The team at Healthantec will never, under any circumstances, send you unsolicited (‘spam’) emails. There are, however, some emails that we will need to send you to provide you with an excellent service. These include notifications that we have received your order, reminders about your subscription expiring and guides on how to get the most from our website at http://www.medick.com (“Website”). A full list of the types of emails you will receive to help you use the service most effectively (which we call Service Emails) are shown below:

    • Validation email – the email we use to verify your email address when you first register and to welcome you to ‘Club Medick’
    • Payment receipt – this is sent to you once payment has been received by us for all orders placed
    • Delivery status – this is sent to you once your goods are on their way to you
    • Expert report notices – this is to inform you that your ECG test has been overviewed by the Medick Personal Heart Reporting Service and is ready for collection within the secure area of the Website
    • Renewal notices – these remind you to renew your subscription and that you only have one expert report left in credit
    • Notices exclusive to you – these let you know if there is any delay in delivery of goods or expert reports, and also applies to any emails you have sent to us at sales@medick.com, support@medick.com and/or info@medick.com.
    • Key service messages – if we need to notify you about changes to the service

As well as these Service Emails, you will also receive our occasional ‘Club Medick’ newsletters (if you have opted to receive them). These emails will help you make the most of the Website and let you know when there's new interesting information available. Here's a bit more about them…

Newsletters. When registering on ‘Club Medick’, you are given the option to receive our occasional newsletter. We use this to notify you about new features on the Website, ask your opinion, invite you to take part in a survey and tell you about any services you might not currently be using.

We only send a newsletter when there is something worthwhile to tell you about, so your inbox will never be overflowing with communication from us. Generally you'll get a newsletter about once every six to eight weeks.

If you decide you no longer want to receive these newsletters – or if you aren't currently receiving it and want to – all you need to do is change your email preferences. You'll find this in the “My details/profile” area once you're logged in.
  2. The information we gather and track

Information gathered on registration. When you register to subscribe to the Medick Personal Heart Reporting Service, you provide your name, date of birth, best telephone number to contact you on (should we ever need to), and email address. You will also be asked to input your choice of user name and password, including a password prompt (should you ever forget it). These details are always available to you, and capable of being changed and updated, through the “My account/update details” page.

Information relating to your ECG expert reports. The Website only stores your current and last expert report, which is why we recommend that you save them onto your pc. Medick Healthcare does not have access to anyone’s individual ECG expert report as it is personal and confidential information. In addition, our expert ECG cardiac doctors do not have access to personally named information (all they see is a unique report number).

Cookies. When you access the Website, we may store some technical information such as cookies on your computer’s hard disk. The use of cookies makes it easier for you to log on to and use the Website during future visits. They also allow us to monitor Website traffic and to personalise the content of the Website for you. You may choose to set your browser to erase or block these cookies, but this may limit the range of features available to you on the Website.
  3. Sharing and use of information

The overriding principles we apply are these:
    • We, and (where relevant) our credit/debit card and direct debit processing agents, will not supply your personal data to a third party for commercial exploitation - so you can be rest assured that we will not sell the lists of our Members' email addresses to a third party; and
    • The only circumstances in which we will provide any of your personal data to a third party for non-commercial purposes are those contained in this Privacy Policy.

Posting comments and feedback through the ‘Club Medick’ Members Area. We do not directly make your email address available to anyone on any screen of this Website. The only legitimate way of making contact with other ‘Club Medick’ members is by using the ‘Club Medick’ noticeboard where your comment(s) can be viewed and responded to by all members (not just one individual). Members may check and (if required) change the email address we hold for them at any time through “My account/update details” page. Members' responses to any notice appearing on the ‘Club Medick’ noticeboard must not include their email address and/or other personal details such as telephone numbers or home addresses.

Advertising. From time to time Healthantec may include interactive advertising for other businesses. We may use, and provide to third parties, anonymised demographic data provided by Members to target this advertising more appropriately.

Credit/Debit Card and Bank Account information. There has been a lot of publicity about financial security on the Internet so we use HSBC as our payment providers. HSBC is the world’s largest bank and operates a secure server, to process our credit/debit card and direct debit payments. They encrypt Members' credit/debit card or bank account information and authorise payment directly. This means that Members' full credit/debit card and bank details are never revealed to us. HSBC may transfer to, process and hold your financial information in countries either within or outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) in connection with performing their duties.

Changes in Healthantec's business. If our business enters into a joint venture with or is sold to or merged with another business entity or other dealings, we may disclose your information to our new business partners, owners or affiliates (including before completion of any such joint venture, sale, merger or corporate reorganisation).

Place of processing. The personal information held by us is currently held on and processed by servers situated in the United Kingdom. However, we reserve the right to have the personal information processed by servers located outside of the United Kingdom so long as we are satisfied that the servers will be kept secure in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Consent. You consent to the transfer of your information to other countries (including countries outside the EEA that may have data protection laws less strong than those in the EEA). We will take appropriate steps to ensure that our affiliates, agents and contractors treat your information securely and use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  4. Security

We have security measures in place to protect our customer database and access to this database is restricted internally. Whilst we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security and we shall not be liable for any unauthorised disclosure of your personal data (including your username and password) by you or third parties. It remains each ‘Club Medick’ Member's responsibility:
    • to protect against unauthorised access to Your Account details;
    • to ensure no-one else uses the Medick Personal Heart Reporting Service on the machine to which you are "logged on" with your own username and password;
    • to log off or exit from the Healthantec ‘Club Medick’ members area when not using it; and
    • to keep his/her password secret.
  5. Removing yourself from ‘Club Medic’ and the Service

You may only have your registration details removed once you have reached the end of your current subscription period. To remove the information yourself, please go to the My Account page of Club Medick, where you will be able to remove all Your Details including any current and unused expert reports.
  6. Disclosure for legal reasons

We may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share this information in order to comply with any legal obligation, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Healthantec, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
  7. Data Retention

We will retain your personal data only for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires, and then we will delete it.
  8. Contacting Healthantec

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, the practices of Healthantec, or your dealings with Healthantec/’Club Medick’, you can contact us. You may request to see the information we hold about you, by contacting us. We are entitled by law to charge you a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing this information.
